Private Equity & Deal Making in the Seafood Industry: Historical Perspective & What Lies Ahead
Session #
Date/Venue Monday, 03/15/2010 12:00PM - 1:00PM , Room 151B
Description Description: Given the current status of the economy, the amount of private equity capital on the sidelines, the historical interest of private equity firms in the seafood segment and the likelihood of future private equity investing in seafood businesses, this panel discussion is very timely.  Several private equity firms are involved in the seafood industry through their existing portfolio companies, and even more firms have expressed an interest in looking for new investments in the segment.  This panel will discuss actual deal case studies of investments/portfolio companies, the criteria for new platform investments, the current private equity and M&A market climate, and the pros/cons of taking on a private equity partner for business owners.  This informative panel will let companies discover who is active in the sector and “what it takes” to get private equity backing.  This forum is an excellent opportunity for seafood businesses to see their potential financial partners “in action” and see how they stack up against other private equity professionals.
